Update an OUTDATED closet!

I have been meaning to update this closet for a while now. A while ago I tried to organize the closet, but it isn't working for us anymore.

I first cleaned everything out of the closet and then cleaned the shelves and walls. I then taped off where I wanted the stripes to be.
I used two colors:
Martha Stewart Sunken Pool matched to Glidden Paint- Semi Gloss
---and---
RustOleum White Paint Semi-Gloss

I then painted with the Sunken pool and waited for the paint to dry for 24 hours. I Then painted with the white.

Emma was my helper for the day.....

I sprayed painted each shelf with primer, and allowed them to dry for 24 hours before I rolled them each with two coats of white paint. I painted the top and bottom of each shelf.

I would LOVE to not put the doors back on but with two little ones who get into everything.. that wasn't an option.

Much Better...

Now off to organize the closet!!!!

Enjoy!

I Heart Cupcakes!

These cupcake stands were easy as pie, or cake...... or cupcake.
You only need a few things to get started:
  • One pack of 4 in. wooden candlesticks
  • Circle disks
  • Spray Paint
  • Tacky or Hot Glue
  • Ribbon, buttons, or any other embellishment you want to add!
Spray paint the candlesticks and wooden circle disks. Let dry. Glue the disk to the top of the candlestick.

Add the ribbon and any other embellishment.

I added hearts to mine for Valentine's Day.

I then saw these mailboxes at Target in the dollar bin the other day when we were there. I hot glued the mailbox to the cupcake holder.

I am going to put the girls' Valentine's Day gifts inside the mailbox.

Hidden Wires...

I am so sick of seeing the wires hanging from our television in the living room. So, I searched on Amazon to see what options there were for cord storage. I found the BlueLounge CableBox Mini. It comes in a lot of colors, but I chose white, because I figured I could spray paint it later if I wanted to. On Amazon, it was only $25.00.
The Mini comes with a small surge protector.

First, here is what it looked like when we got started.

I took the BlueLounge out of the box. I used these strips to hold the surge protector in place, inside the box. I then used more of the strips to hold the box on the wall. This allows me to easily sweep by the television, without having to lift something up.

I used a wire cover to hide the cord coming from the box.

This is how it looks now.. I love it...

Enjoy!
